“Reiki can never and will never belong to just one person or one organization. Reiki is the spiritual heritage of all humanity.”
– Dr. Mikao Usui

Everything is made up of energy. Quantum Physics tells us that the building blocks of matter are made of energy, and we all are a part of the “ocean” of energy. The matter that appears solid constantly vibrates. Oftentimes we say that someone has "good vibes," what we really mean is the person's vibrational energy, and happy people tend to vibrate on a higher frequency. We all can feel the energy of people, places, and material objects. Just because we do not consciously recognize the sensations and feelings it does not mean it is not there.
Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body's subtle energy systems to remove blocks. It allows the body to reach the self-healing homeostatic state by breaking through these energetic blocks.
What is Reiki
Reiki is a healing technique that was developed in Japan in early 1920s by Mikao Usui, and was brought to the West in 1937 by Hawayo Takata. “Rei '' is a divine universal, and “Ki” is the energy that is emitted by all living beings and flows through everything that is alive. This healing practice is used worldwide by people of different faiths, cultures, and spiritual beliefs. The attuned practitioner acts as a channel for universal energy, to rebalance and clear blockages in energy centers. In the past decade the popularity of Reiki has grown tremendously. At the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Reiki is now a part of the pain management treatment that Shock Trauma patients receive on a regular basis. Patients reported that after a Reiki session the pain scores usually drop 3 or 4 points on a scale of 10.

How to Choose a Reiki Practitioner
Listen to your heart and follow your intuition because it will always steer you the right way. It is important to find a practitioner who resonates with you and whom you can trust.
Note: Although energy healing is a very effective practice to improve the quality of life, to raise the vibrational field, you need to bear in mind that it must be supplemented with the right diet, exercise, and medication.
